"Provide humanitarian and social assistance, especially to the most vulnerable, preventing and repairing suffering, and contributing to the defense of life, health and human dignity."
Over time, there appears to be a general increase in natural disasters, with climate change contributing to this reality.
To The international community, including the PRC, has been making efforts to ensure that people can anticipate, survive and recover from natural disasters and that humanitarian responses meet people's psychosocial and mental health needs.
On the 4th, 5th and 6th of June 2020, PRC Psychosocial Teams will be holding a Forum dedicated to Psychosocial Support and Mental Health in Natural Disasters.
It will be an opportunity for discussion and sharing of best practices, national and international. There will be the presence of Local PRC Structures throughout the country, National Red Cross Societies of Portuguese Speaking Countries, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations, as well as Specialists in Humanitarian Action, Psychosocial Support and Mental Health.
The forum will be associated with a book launch.
On the 6th of June, an Exercise will be carried out by the PRC Psychosocial Teams in a natural disaster scenario.
